Framing
Above are a few examples of some framed artwork. Please note that paintings are not normally framed but those that are have this stated in the information underneath the painting. All frames are custom made by a professional fully qualified framer. If a frame is required then this service can be provided at extra cost. Commissions Commissions are welcome from both Private and Commercial clients. Please note that each artwork I create is unique and will never be repeated. This guarantees that you have the only one of its kind. A price guide for commissions is available on request. Commission quotations are valid for only 30 days from the date the quotation's are sent to you. If you haven’t seen a painting in any of my galleries that you like, or you like something, but would prefer a different size, or different colours, then it’s possible to commission me to create a new and unique painting just for you. I will not however copy an existing painting. If you would like me to create a piece of art for you, please think of the following questions: Do you want to compliment your existing décor? Or do you want a focal point for a room? Please, if possible can you provide photos of the area where the art work is to be displayed? These can be returned if you so wish. What are your key words? Do you have a specific mood or phrase in mind? If you are not sure, take time to look at my paintings and their titles for some ideas. For example, with my “Detachment” series, I concentrated on the word Detachment, thought about what it meant to me, and allowed the paintings to follow from there. What is your colour palette? Does it need to match something already? If so, please try to match it to a paint chart. Digital photos of the colour are never exact so aren’t reliable for colour matching. What style of art do you prefer? Bold and active – for example, my “New Era” collection consist of fast bold stokes, bringing movement and vibrancy to the pieces, whilst “ Isolation” series, is dark, slow and with each line and mark considered. Or do you prefer a mix of the two, so something completely different. What do you want your artwork to be made from? I mostly use acrylics to provide colour but will use just about anything! Do you want your art to be flat i.e. “Red Square I” with just the use of acrylic paints or would you like it heavily textured with many different media used i.e. “Memories”. What are your size requirements? I can create to most sizes, or as near as possible to your size requirement. I work in inches so please provide measurements in this form to ensure accuracy. Does the size you provide include the frame or just the art work? If the size you provide does need to include the frame, generally speaking, the art work will be approximately 2 or 3 inches smaller all around, this however can be changed to suit your own tastes. How many canvases would you like your art work to be created on? 1, 2 (diptych) see “Primary A & B”, 3 (triptych) see “Sunset” etc – I’ll paint to what ever your needs are! What would you like your art to be created upon? Board, canvas or paper? Each brings with it their own technicalities. Canvases are probably the easiest to hang / display as they don’t need to be framed, but can be if you so wish. Canvas art is not normally glazed when framed. Canvases come in a variety of different sizes and depth, with the majority of mine being box type (approx 1.5” deep.) Art on board needs to framed but not glazed. The painting looks similar to canvas art, but is only a few millimetres thick. Art on paper probably gives the most freedom in size, as virtually any size paper is available, but its biggest draw back is that is needs to be framed and glazed to display and protect it. This obviously increases the cost of your art work. Framing. If you require framing for any of the above reasons, then I can arrange this for you (please see my Framing section above) or you can just purchase the art work and have it framed yourself. Obviously doing this will reduce costs to yourself. Finally, do you have a certain budget for your art work? If so, how much? Do you have a certain date for the painting to be completed by? Depending on size, most art work can be completed with in a few weeks. I’ll email you back as soon as possible after I receive your enquiry, with an approximate cost and will start working on your idea, designing mood / concept boards with colours, shapes, are relevant phases to help me with the creative process of producing your special piece of art work. I will keep you informed of every step in creating your art work! Licensing of my art.
